Virginia Line Dance Festival 2016

Thank you Olivia Ray and Nat Morgan for making Virginia Line Dance Festival 2016 bigger and better than ever.  Because of your many talented instructors, we were able to take away many memories and new dances.  The DJ’s (Mary Kaye Johnson & Michael Diven) were great and your instructors (Joanne Brady, Cheri Litzenburg, Roz Morgan, Steve Lescarbeau, John Robinson, Junior Willis, Dancin' Terry, Dancin' Dean, Sue Ann Ehmann, Brandon Zahorsky, Michael Diven, Tina Foster and guest instructor Willie Brown) gave us the new skills and dances that we looked forward to receiving, as usual.

We made new friends and enjoyed each others company and skills.  We can only hope that next year's Festival will be equally as informative, friendly and well put together as this one was.  My hat is off to you, Olivia Ray and Nat Morgan!

Again, thank you everyone!  I love my line dance family and all of the fun that we have and the comraderies.  An exceptional group of people!!

Please plan on attending next year and get those registarions in as soons as you can!  These events are so very memorable and so much fun!  Make sure you sign up for next year's event (August 3 - 6, 2017).  Registration forms available on www.gottalinedanceva.comRegister soon!

July 23rd - Our maiden voyage for "Country at the DR" at Dominion Raceway was a HUGE success!  Wow, what a turn out we had.  Over 100 people attended and the feedback was great!  Line Dance Cheri and I (DJ Dirty Harry) had a blast teaching and providing music for you to dance to and enjoy on a huge dance floor in an air-conditioned and non-smoking environment.

We are very pleased to announce that because of everyone's participation, we have been booked for the 3rd Friday of each month through the end of the year  Those dates are August 19, September 16, October 21, November 18 & December 16.  Don't worry, we will keep you informed of the next dance in advance and we can only hope that you will enjoy yourselves as much as the last time.  Watch for announcements in your email, on Facebook and by word of mouth and referrals.  Please email if you would like to be added to our newsletter.

We look forward to seeing you again on August 19th!

BONNIE REB BOOT SHOP - If anyone is struggling to find a "local" establishment to purchase western boots or to have repairs, then by all means go see Linda at Bonnie Reb Boot Shop in Culpeper.  Go to "About Us" and link to their page on "Links of Interest".  I have been searching for a local establishment for some time and stumbled across Linda & Warren Hoffman in Culpeper.  Super nice people to boot (pun intended).  Tell Linda that "Harry" sent you from Fredericksburg and she will give you a special deal.  They have been in business for over 40 years!

Virginia Line Dance Festival 2015

And I thought last year (2014) was a fun time.  This year topped it!  Thank you Olivia Ray and Nat Morgan for another wonderful Virginia Line Dance Festival.  So many new dances and wonderfully talented instructors as well.  We learned a lot and have many, many dances to take home and learn.  The DJ’s (Jill Babinec & Mary Kaye Johnson) were great, as usual.  The instructors (Joanne Brady, Cheri Litzenberg, Roz Morgan, Steve Lescarbeau, John Robinson, Junior Willis, Dancin' Terry, Dancin' Dean, Sue Ann Ehmann, Brandon Zahorsky, Jill Babinec, & Tina Foster) all possessed skill, agility, friendliness and were just down right good people.  I applaud your skills and your hours of preparation for this event.

We got to see friends that we made from previous events and we made many new friends, too!  All was for a common goal – to learn, to enjoy and to expand our dancing vocabulary and skills!!

I can only say that this VLDF will not be easy to top next year!  But, I am sure that Olivia and Nat and all of the professional instructors will go above and beyond to make sure this happens.

Again, thank you everyone!  I love my line dance family and all of the fun that we have and the comraderies.  An exceptional group of people!!

If you did not attend, make sure that you plan ahead and participate next year.  You will NOT be disappointed!!!!  Make sure you sign up for next year's event.  Registration forms available on www.gottalinedanceva.comSo, register soon!

Virginia Line Dance Festival (VLDF) 2014

Fredericksburg Hospitality House & Convention Center

What a great, great time we had at the Festival!  Great instructors, great dances, great dancers and just a fabulous, fun-filled weekend!!  If you have never been to one of these weekends, then you are missing a lot.  You are taught a lot of super dances that you can take back home and hone your dancing skills and share with others.

Did I say how great the instructors, and DJ’s, were?  I believe it is safe to say, “A fun time was had by all”.  A lot of known instructors to the line dancing community and some guest instructors.  Hopefully, next year Line Dance Cheri will be a "Headline" instructor!!!

There were over 400 participants registered.  Two and ½ days of instruction and 3 nights of open dancing with lots of friends.  Olivia Ray and Nat Morgan put on a great weekend for everyone!

Make sure you sign up for this event next year.  It will take place on July 30 – August 2, 2015Registration forms will be available on  Next year the maximum number of registrations will be capped at 350.  So, register soon!

             PRESS RELEASE

               January 2014

Patsy & the Country Classics,  a Fredericksburg VA-based band, has been awarded the National Traditional Country Music Association/Rural Roots Commission’s   “2014 Traditional Country Music CD of the year” award.  Their debut CD, entitled “Now Appearing, Patsy & the Country Classics” is comprised of 14 songs, 12 covers of traditional country music, and two original gospel songs written by Michael Hockaday, the drummer and one of the male vocalists.

Patsy and Callis Godley started the band in 2012.  Comprised of seasoned musicians who have a passion for traditional country music, the band found a niche that needed to be filled and the response has been overwhelming.  This award is an incredible honor, and the band plans to travel to Fremont, Nebraska the first week of October to perform and accept the award.
